Television-The Simpsons

I'm proud to say that I have been watching "The Simpsons" since I was five years old. My mom might be a little embarrassed, but really its no big thing. Naturally, though, I have seen almost every episode. 

Anyways, today they played the episode with John Waters. I figured since he's been discussed frequently that it would only be appropriate that I mention the episode!

In the episode, Homer comes to like John until he finds out that he's gay. After that, Homer becomes convinced that Bart will be influenced by John and end up gay. What ensues is a string of missteps by Homer. In an effort to expose Bart to "manly" things, Homer tries to take Bart to a steel mill (where it turns out all the workers are gay), and hunting with Moe and Barney. Bart announces that he thinks hunting is kind of a gay activity, as it is centered on a bunch of men alone in the woods. 

What Bart hits on is the ture hypocrisy of most homophobes. So much of what they hold to be masculine can actually be considered queer. 

Anyways, great episode. All should look it up on Hulu or something. It's called "Homer's Phobia."
